Using the Rezonant Alter Chrome extension
Alter is our Chrome extension that captures everything you say out loud or point to on-screen, and maps it to your product and codebase, writing specs and tasks that an engineer or coding agent can build from.
Simply open Alter, hit record and talk through product changes or ideas, switching tabs across your live product, prototypes and designs. Hit submit, and your session will be sent straight to Rezonant, where you can use the context to drive PRDs, Tasks or even the coding agent.
Installing the extension
- Download Alter from the Chrome Web Store, or find the link in your Rezonant workspace under Account Settings - Connected apps.
- Click Add to Chrome and confirm.
- The Alter icon will appear in your Chrome toolbar. Click it to open the side panel.
- Sign in with your Rezonant account and your workspace will connect automatically.
Capturing a session
- Navigate to the product page, prototype or design that you want to capture.
- Open the Alter side panel.
- Click on any element on the page to annotate it - a visual overlay marks it and opens a space for your notes.
- Hit Start Recording to talk through what you're seeing with voice narration, or type notes directly.
- Pause at any point, then pick back up when you're ready.
- When you're done, click Stop recording and submit your changes. You can record more sessions, or submit to Rezonant. They'll then appear in your Rezonant workspace.
A few tips
- You don't need to annotate everything - focus on the specific interactions or issues you want to flag. Rezonant is good at mapping it to the bigger picture.
- You can switch tabs between your live product, staging, prototypes and designs. Alter keeps up.
- You can connect your Lovable repo to Github, and turn both your Lovable and production repo on in Rezonant. Hit record on Alter, talk over your Lovable prototype, and Rezonant will map it to your real product.
- Try hitting record on Alter and holding a session with your designers and devs, chatting through ideas and edge cases like you would normally.
